On Thursday we went on a boat ride to Phi Phi Island. We got to sight see from the boat and we got to snorkel to monkey beach. It was a beautiful sight and quite the day.
On Saturday we went on an amazing adventure through the rainforest. We went on a zip lining tour called the flight of the gibbon. There were 24 platforms with ropes anywhere from 50 feet to 300 feet long. The first few were a little rocky for me but once I got the hang of it, it was an amazing experience that I'm glad I did. My group was my back bone they got me through it!
On Friday we went to Wat Pho which is home to the reclining Buddha. It is a huge gold Buddha with mother of pearl feet. At Wat Pho there are also a lot of other little Wats with very intricate designs on the roof and on the exterior. Also at Wat Pho you can get a massage from the monks.
On Thursday we went and explored Wat Arun. I'm not really sure how but our cab driver had no clue where we were going and took us to the wrong place. Then when we finally arrived the lady gave us a little bit of a hard time however it was worth it to see. You were able to climb to the top and sign a yellow banner. The climb to the top was the steepest thing I've ever climbed in my life. Once at the top my heart was racing as to how I was going to get back down safely.
Steep stairs.
Lisa at the top.
At night we went to a well known restaurant called cabbages and condoms where they promote safe sex and HIV prevention. They also give out condoms instead of mints.
